We get a government grant of €14,000 and the rest of the money has to be raised by relying on donations and fund-raising events. It costs on average €60,000 to run our team on a yearly basis. The Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team carry out a 24/7 rescue service to those who find themselves lost and or injured in the mountains. So although the Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team celebrated it’s 30th Birthday in 2014, we are proud to be associated with mountain rescue for the last 48 years. These mountaineers came from An Óige and were highly trained to carry out a rescue service to the mountaineering community. Both loops start and finish at The GAP (the GlenCullen Adventure Park), just up the road from Johnnie Fox’s “Walk the Line” aims to cater for both the seasoned hill-walkers and also those walkers who want to give the hills a try with a super route around the Dublin Mountains.
